The Science of Heat Dissipation
Heat dissipation refers to the process of transferring heat away from a component or system to prevent overheating. In other words, ZyCoat coatings lower the heat absorption of metal which in turn reduces the “heat sink”. This has a direct impact on the lowering of the components radiant heat. The surface temperature of the metal is reduced but that pales in comparison with the reduction of radiant heat measured one inch from the surface of the metal. Effective thermal management ensures that high-performance machines operate within safe temperature ranges, reducing wear and enhancing performance. Radiant heat reduction occurs both inside and outside the component. Inside radiant heat reduction creates a larger area for the hot gases to flow. Enhanced Durability: The pencil hardness of ZyBar is 7.9 and ZyClear is 9.0. Ceramic coatings hardness starts at 6.2 and reduces dramatically during in-service glass transition. ZyCoat technologies reduce heat stress, minimizing material degradation, extending the useful life of parts.
